"This car is a piece of junk!! Looks are the only good thing about it. Everything that can break has broke. It has 110,000 miles and have had overheating issues, electrical issues, and timing issues. After finally finding some one who can work on the car I had the motor replaced ONLY to have misfires and oil leaks from the valve covers as well as a computer problem. The biggest problem is I cant find anyone to take it. Never again will I own a Lincoln!!"

"I got suckered into buying this car by the looks and the v8 engine. The engine has a lot of pep to it-and you're going to pay for it. I've owned my 2000 for less then a year (bought with 34k on it) and had to REPLACE (yes, replace) the transmission at 48k. In addition to that, I've replaced 3 window regulators and have had several cylinders misfire. The dealer basically told me to live with it, its a common problem and they don't intend on fixing it."

"I bought this car when it was 14 months old with 14000 miles. It is an excellent highway car, I dont feel tired after 8 hours of driving. I use it as a work car, I paid less than the price of a new 500 for it. Right after I bought it I was driving home from Cleveland and was hit with a snow storm. The traction controll worked great, Cars spinning out every where. 300 miles later no problem, i have put 51000 miles on this car and very little repairs."

"I love my LS, well the looks and the way the car feels when you drive it. But the minute something goes bad or needs to be replaced, its a money pit and a never ending affect of problems. one right after the other. This is really dissapointing, because this is my dream car. Ya I dont ask for much, so when i got my 2000 lincoln ls, i was so happy. Now im thinking i need to get rid of it and quick. way to many problems with stupid price tags to it."

"I have had two Lincoln LS. Both were 6 cylinder. Quick, blast to drive. Great handling. 1st was 2004 that I totaled in accident at 70,000 miles. Great car, minimal mechanical issues. 2nd one is a 2002 that I bought used. Have had for a year now and have had zero issues. I would highly recommend. I have never been crazy about the nose design, but beyond that I have no complaints. If you want a great sports car for minimal cost, this is a sleeper."

"This is th most luxurious, smoothest running and fastest car i,ve ever owned! I believe it was the most underrated car that Lincoln ever made. It accelerates like crazy and you'd better know how to handle a fast car or you'll wreck it! This was truly the last of the American -made, (with a Jaguar engine), rear-wheel-drive sport, luxury, MUSCLE cars. I own a 2000 that I love and blow away quite a few unsuspecting other so-called FAST cars with!"

"I had this car for a year I spent more money fixing it then I payed on it. Anything that breaks down cost a whole lot to fix I am 22 and just started living on my own so it was very inconvient to spend any exta money i had or could get fixing my car. Its been broke down more than I've gotten to drive it and I figured after making 2 very expensive repairs that it would be good to go for atleast a year and no I was wrong its broke down again."

"I LOVE MY LS.. THE ONLY BAD THING I CAN SAY ABOUT IT IS THAT SINCE ITS REAR WHEEL DRIVE, ITS NOT A VEHICLE TO USE IN THE WINTER. I DO AND I MAKE IT, BUT I ONLY WORK 1 MILE AWAY SO THANKFULLY I DONT HAVE THAT FAR TO GO. ITS VERY ROOMY AND GOT TONS OF LITTLE EXTRAS THAT REALLY SPOIL YOU. I ALSO LOVE THE LOOK OF THE 01 LINCOLN BETTER THAN THE NEWER ONES. EVEN THOUGH ITS A SEDAN IT REALLY TURNS HEADS. IT ALSO PACKS A POWERFUL PUNCH, VERY QUICK!"

"I have replaced transmission, and other repairs over the years and the check engine light stays on after major repairs. I haven't driven my LS since 7/12/10 because the front tire low ball joint needs replacing at the cost of $750.00. this year I have replaced the power steering line, and dual hose and radiator. It is a beautiful car and good on mileage but I can't continue paying these repair bills. I'm in the process of letting it go."

"This car preforms as well as any German BMW or MB in it's class. Too bad that Ford didn't market this car better. It was car of the year and it should have been promoted much better,
30 - 50 year old demographic is were this car needed to be tauted to. Older people expect a Lincoln to ride like a boat and float. This car is a road hugging rocket and handles like it's on rails. This is the type of owner that should have been targeted."

"I purchased this car from my uncle, him buying it new and as soon as i got it, it began falling apart. I brought it from him for 2500 and i've put that much if not more back into the car for repairs. It gets awful mileage and its not very good in the winter and it takes premium only fuel, not ideal for a college student. It's a Lincoln but it is made by ford, which i should have known right then. I will never buy another ford again."

"All I have to say is Thank God we got the extended warantee! We would have spent more than the car is worth had we not gotten it! Almost everything has had to be replaced. Right after the warantee ran out, the transmission went out, so that was a bunch out of our pocket. The only reason why we don't get rid of it is because the value tanked after we bought it and we owe too much. Friend's don't let Friend's drive Ford...or Lincoln."

"I have never driven a more balanced vehicle - comfortable, and at the same time accelerates briskly, turns with tremendous confidence, and brakes that are unmatched. Even fuel economy is remarkable - overall average for 45,000 miles has been 23 mpg, and highway mileage is 27 at speeds of 75 mph. I use only premium fuel and synthetic oil, but I don't know if that helps the fuel economy or not. Most people also love the way it looks."

"I bought the car used in 2009, with 37,000 miles and have brought it into the shop at least 1-2 per year since I've owned it. I thought after replacing all 8 coils I would have a reliable car but no the engine light has come on again...Maybe I got a lemon but this is the first and most likely last FORD I will ever buy. I bought a used Nissan Maximum before this one, had it for 9 years and only brought it into the shop once...."

"I got this car at 40,000 miles 10/2006. i LOVE this car but i have had it in the dealership 9 times to replace ignition coils--mind you this defect is under a special extended warranty to 100,000. I will be getting rid of mine @ 99,000. I love this car, the speed, looks, handling, etc. HOWEVER the maintenance issues are insane and i agree with the 1-2 second confusion pause in the transmission. Go with something else if u can."

"I bought this 2003 LS V8 in 2005.
The climate control malfunctioned needing repairs, twice (full hot on right side). One fuel injector needed replacing. Valve cover gasket needed replacing.
All covered under the extended warranty luckly.
Has been working well now for awhile. Purchased it with 32000 miles and it now has 64,000.
Loads of power, corners extremely well.
Warranty is about to expire. Hummm ... should I sell it?"

I tried the 2004 LS Lincoln and have had such a terrible experience (Mechanically) has been to local Ford dealer w/ transmission problems (3) times..can find problem, AC problems, coils, spark plugs..you name it they have changed & done just about everything too it this vehicle.. I guess I need to stick with Foreign made cars.. for better value, reliability, quality, performance, etc.."

"We have had this V-6 for a year now and have grown to love it. The 20 mpg in town was disappointing at first, but we are used to it now. The performance is fantastic for such a small 6 (188 cubic inches) and it has 1hp for each inch. The high compression (10.5) requires the "fat" gas for mountains, otherwise we use cheapie stuff. However, it keeps getting FLAT TIRES! Our friends say it was about time we got a REAL CAR."

"I have sunk so much money into this car. All the coils had to be replaced, rack and pinion had to be replaced, thermostat had endless issues, the engine had to be replaced, and now my timing chain is destroyed. It would cost me $1100 dollars to get that fixed after already paying the $2500 for the new engine. Nothing but a nightmare car. I'm so stupid for paying more for repairs to the car than it is actually worth."

"have spent more in repairs than i have in payments in 4 years. Buying this car was a worse mistake than marrying my first wife.
replaced transmission, 4 coil packs, had vaccuum leak, air bags sensor and the infamous lower ball joints go bad...and of course my vin wasn't on the recall list.
Stay away from the LS. It looks pretty, has nice creature comforts, but it will suck the money right out of your bank account."
