"I was looking for an SUV (BMW,Volvo,lexus). My brother had purchased a new Kia Optima just weeks before and told me to look at the New Kias. I went to the Kia dealership to see what he was so excited about. I test drove the sorrento and WOW! I was impressed. Comparing this to the vehicles mentioned aboved it was close enough to what I was in the market for. With a 6 yr 100000 mile warrenty, great fuel economy,and plenty of leg room (even in the back),and storage, who could go wrong! Price wise it was $15000.00 less than the other manufactures,which I inturn had for other investments. Bravo Kia!"

"We bought new in 2009 with a great price and a $4000 rebate. This one came loaded with 4WD, luxury package, chrome package, etc. Was concerned about 'loading up' on a KIA, but somehow it keeps its value. Great in snow and roomy.
Heated leather seats are a plus in the snow belt. The only drawback is driving dynamics - ride gets a little bouncy and braking could be better. The 3.8 V6 is beefy and has a throaty growl to it. The '08 is last model year for 'body on frame' construction. Back seat is 'full size' roomy. Try It!"

"I've put endless miles on this car and it has been flawless. The ride is a little bumpy, truck like if you will, but its fun.
I have never had any major repairs needed, it gets regular maintenance and the car runs beautifully. I've already purchased a brand new Kia Sorento. I loved my 2005 so much and I've been so please with it I went out and bought a brand new one.
The Sorento is cheap to keep on the road, the depreciation is minimal, its a fun ride and its great looking vehicle. I'm actually sad to let it go, but its time for a small change."

"The Sorento rides well and is quiet. The 3.8L engine is a little tough on gas. Careful driving and use of cruise control on the open road have made a difference. Aftermarket parts are tough to find. Prices on SOME dealer items are unusually high. The dealer wanted $8.00 for a map light bulb. The manual only says it a 10 watt bulb. However, I found three for $1.99 at the car wash, of all places. Works great. It's the same bulb, including the 10 watts. Having said that, no major purchases have had to be made at the Kia dealer. It's been a great vehicle."

"I purchased my Sorento in 2004. We needed a tow car and room to pack our merchandise for our business. It towed our small trailers like a dream. I only have one complaint. The headlights need replacing frequently. I have never done any major repairs to the Sorento. Normal wear and tear only. If I decide to ever get another car it will be another Sorento. I have had it pin striped and glass etchings placed on it"

"I have had my Sorento for just under a year now, and I haven't had any problems with it at all yet. The 3.5L V6 gives you plenty of power to get you going. And it's great for the hills all around where I live. The only issues I have had with the whole experience are, the tipping feeling when taking sharp corners because of soft suspension and a top heavy vehicle, and it is a little bit sketchy in the snow if you have the Front-Wheel Drive model like mine. But in general it's a ton of fun to drive. Especially being a 5-speed manual trans."

"i currently drive the 2004 kia serento, before i had it the car was driven by my sister, who had crashed it twice. to our suprise the car was actually pretty sturdy and held up fine in both accidents. i love this car it drives great and hasnt given me to many problems except for the interior can be hard to clean."

"Had a problem with the wiring harness when I bought it brand new. Got that replaced, and have had no further problems, use it everyday, gas mileage is great for a v-6. Will trade for a new one soon. Would recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants a SUV at a good price. Next time, I will go for Leather seats instead of cloth, just because I haul grandkids to sports and would be easier to keep clean."

"The Sorecnto is an overall nice vehicle. It has plenty of room. Its interior design is nice, all controls are easy to access while driving. It runs well, has plenty of power, and isn't to bad on gas. It has been very dependable. If I ever want an SUV again, I would consider a new Sorento."

"When my aunt got her new 2009 Sorento I fell in love and decided I was going to get one. A few months later I found a 2005 model with 76000 miles on it and I scooped it up. Despite the problems I had with the dealership (not KIA) I love my car. It has had its problems but what car has not. Its a good deal and best of all its practicle. Its been just great for everything that I have needed!"

"I brought the car used in full. My first impressions was I like the way it ride, smooth. After a week and a half my power steering went out to find out that it was the harmonic balancer that broke, the crank shift needed fixing, and once it was fixed the power steering still kept going out. Every week it was a problem. It kept a weird rattling noise when I accelerated. Overall I would NOT buy another kia. Console drawer in middle where air controls are wouldn't stay closed. I had problems with the crank shift and that was the only engine issue and no seemingly transmission issues."

"I bought this car new, at a dealer. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned. The reason you don't find many for sale is because happy owners keep their cars. The only negative thing I have to say about my car is that I would like to upgrade to a newer model but the new ones are not available in 4-wheel drive (only all wheel). And I live in the mountains, where 4-wheel is important. If you're looking at a used Sorento, I highly recommend it."

"I bought this car brand new from a local dealer and honestly it has been a good vehicle overall. When I bought it I really liked the style, the price was right, and it fit our needs as a family perfectly. In most ways, this has been the easiest car I have ever owned as far as out of pocket costs. Six years later, this car has 110K miles and it is starting to fall apart. I can't say I am really surprised, I sort of expected it. The good with this SUV; it's fairly roomy, it has very acceptable power and acceleration, it's easy to drive, and it's pretty comfortable. The 4WD works great in the snow, it handles the road well, and it drives pretty well. Honestly, this vehicle didn't cost me very much in the way of repairs until it hit almost 100K miles, although it seems to have a particular appetite for tires (about every 30K miles, regardless of brand, inflation, or rotation). Now that it's out of warranty almost everything is breaking. The dash lights don't work sometimes, the interior dome light died (not just a bulb), the suspension has various knocks and thumps, and the engine runs erratically. Sometimes it won't start, then it will start as if nothing's wrong. The gas gauge no longer works and I'm told the repair is about $500. This car has had weird electrical problems since day 1, rips through headlights every few months, and the lights for the heater controls have always been sketchy. The passenger seat had to be replaced (under warranty) because the airbag sensor went on the fritz. I've had to put a battery in it about every 30 months because it just seems to cook after that amount of time. The rear wheel lips are starting to rot through and it's rusting down low quickly, although you have to remember that this is a New England vehicle. The dealer has been working on it and they tell me that they just can't figure out what the "gremlins" are. Honestly, this vehicle didn't give me one minute of serious headache for almost 100K miles, but now everything is breaking all at the same time. It has been regularly maintained by the dealer since day 1, has had all the recommended services, so don't think for a minute that it is a typical neglected vehicle that just got gassed up and run. The reliability was stellar up until recently, so I would have to say that this is a great vehicle if you can find a low mileage one, but if you are looking at one that has higher mileage, plan on sinking some money in. But to be truthful, for the last 6 years it has been the best car I've ever owned up until the last few months. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy this SUV. But my experience tells me that when the warranty is up, the vehicle will start to break. Unfortunately, I was told by a few mechanics that this is a 100k mile "throwaway", and although I didn't want to believe it, it is turning out to be true."

What I did get was the best auto purchase decision I had ever made. I broke the car in by taking my son all around the country and into Canada as a graduation kid. It just purred, mountain or plain, and great mileage. I live in Atlanta, where traffic is a nightmare, and the same. What a car!
Last week I totalled it when I ran off a freeway and rolled over several times. Even then I walked out of the car without so much as a scratch on me. (I do thank God first, then the car).
Not having it anymore is devastating. Like loosing a friend that was close to you and you could say anything to. I'll mourn it for a long time. But it's legacy will be that I will tell everybody the same thing - you cannot do better!"
