"This is just a great little car with an attitude. My wife and I traded in a Cadillac SRX for the Fit and could not be more pleased. We bought it for short trips around town, Costco runs and hauling mulch from the greenhouse. The very same things we purchased the SRX for. Turns out is is more fun, handles better, is higher quality and has an attitude. My wife and I have to negociate who gets to drive this car and our other car is a Mercedes. There have been complaints about the lack of a dead pedel and armrest. Both of those issues can be solved with aftermarket accessories found on the internet. This car serves as a very nice compliment to our Mercedes and makes us happy each time we get behind the wheel. Great job, Honda."

"negatives(3): power window controls need to moved forward on armrest 1.5" and buttons for forward windows made more tactile. A/T shift lever moves too easily into neutral when bumped, same with wiper control knob. For my type of mountain driving, the engine lacks the torque going up hill at normal speed; not a big problem for me here in central calif. But I am concerned about higher mountain driving. Positives: great handling and braking, great view out of windows, outstanding inside room for my needs and 35 mpg average for all driving at 2000+ miles."

"have already racked up over 30k and have not have had any real issues.
this car is wonderful to drive, and while its no 3 series, it is hands down a great handler, with great, direct steering feel and great fuel economy.
it could use a dead pedal and armrest, but other than that, the little extras the sport affords you are well worth the sacrifice. this is hands down the best car in its class, why settle for a bland people mover when you can pay just a tad extra and get a rewarding, non-boring and downright entertaining driving experience?
this car has great interior materials, and while its no vw rabbit, its the best in its class.
very cheap to maintain too! and cool in the classic honda hatch way."

"I have had a 08 Fit sport AT for 6 months now and I love it. I have average about 33 MPG combined city highway over the past 21 fillups. My highest MPG was at 35.24 and my lowest was 31.43 MPG. The car is great!"

"Hands down the best car out there for the money-- it's better than many more expensive cars. So roomy I can fit anything I'd ever need to in it with the seats flipped down. I fit a coffee table, 3 chairs, and an huge ottomon from a garage sale in it! All my friends definitely have "fit envy" I had the first one in my area (first shipment over) and now I see them everywhere! Seems like everyone else appreciates the cute styling, great gas mileage, and amazing room for cargo. Love my Honda! (and I'm a defector-- my dad and husband work for the big 3 and hate me for buying a foreign car but I love it too much to care! My husband even begrudgingly admits that my car gets better gas mileage and has superior interior design over his car from the big 3)"

"'08 mpg is 36.4 to 43 with 40.1 as average would like to see a 6 spd, place to put eye glasses, and a optional day/night mirror with outside temperture and compass carpeting is cheap looking GREAT CAR for everybody!!!!!!!!!!! PS for those who think it is noisey--I say there is no wind noise--only road noise that can be deadend by using a sound quieting material from Ziebart (they spray it on)"

"I have had this car since Nov 07. I love this car, peppy, fun to drive, and after a 10 hour drive (40.8 mpg, with air on recirculate) I could still walk and wasn't sore. Definitely a keeper. Don't like that I can 'feel' the road bumps, but driving by Branson, MO, it hugged to curves great. No problems with the car, only wish it had a valet key and locking gas cap option."

"I bought the 5 speed MT after they first came out (May 2006). I wanted a reliable economy car that was comfortable and flexible. This car meets all my need for a daily driver on my 75 mile roundtrip commute, occasional passengers, hauling purchases from Home Depot or Costco or a 350-mile trip to visit family. For the money, the Fit sport has as many extras as more expensive cars, so you don't feel like you're giving up too much. The fuel economy is very attractive: my lifetime average is 37.5 mpg including all driving conditions and A/C use. Pure highway driving on a long trip always yields from 41-45 mpg driving at ~70 with the a/c on. After 2 years and 45,000 miles the car still runs like new and has no mechanical problems. I have worn out the original set of tires and replaced them with some Michelins which improves the ride and lowers the road noise a great deal. I expect that many owners few complaints about the car may be due to the original tires. Maybe most important of all, this car is fun to drive and still enjoy it."

"Looks small but very roomy. I can accomodate things in this car I couldn't in my Honday Civic sedan. I average 28 mpg in the city and approx 40 on the Hwy. Your milage will depend on how and where you drive. Sound is great. Handles great. Love everything about it!!"

"I bought a new 2008 Fit with the Sport trim and the automatic transmission in November of 2007. I have about 8000 miles on the car now. Best in town mileage averages about 22 and the all time best I ever got on a long highway trip was 31, so don't fall for these stories of 40+ MPG miracle cars. No mirror on the passenger visor, which angered the wife. No console in between the front seats to rest your arm. No option for sunroof, GPS or satellite radio. TERRIBLE performance as to acceleration! Very slow and somewhat dangerous due to lack of power. Very hot due to massive UNTINTED front glass."

"bought fit in 07. now have 13000 miles on it, averaging 27 mpg in city and have gotten 44 on the road with my wife and i and golf clubes to wisconsin over memorial day trip. would also like a place for my left foot for long trips, we are planning to go to branson mo next month, and with the gas prices we will be taking the fit. do wish that they had a retro fit roof rack for a ladder or wood transport. love the way the interior can be changed around. abel to get golf clubes in with back seat in up position. the trip to the dells in wisc took 10 gal gas round trip. i had the windowes tinted to help the air conditioning, put on my own side mouldings and made a center arm rest. the sound system is great for a small car of this price range. we are tinking of selling our 05 oddessy and getting another fit."

"i bought the first year model and am extremely happy thus far (37,000 miles as of today). Most it's ever cost me to fill up is $34 for a full tank...
Pros Great gas milage Best i've seen =43mpg avg=35mpg Low cost Low maintance Great warrenty split folding backseat
Cons Small backseats (though i leave mine down for my dogs and never sit back there) sits really low to the ground which can create a bumpy ride.
I've owned a Rav4, Jeep wrangler, volvo 850, and toyota highlander the Fit is by far my fav. of the group. Buy one if you are looking for a cheap, reliable car that greats great gas milage."

"Just purchased an '08 Sport with Auto. Had to wait 2 months for Blackberry Pearl color, but it was well woth it. Just filled up for the fourth time (about a 1000 miles) and am averaging about 36 mpg's. I drive a pretty even mix of city/highway and do use some of the less intense hypermiling techniques when I can. The Fit handles me ( 6ft and 230 lbs.) my wife and our six month old (and all that goes with a six month old) without ever feeling cramped. The steering is awsome, though there is a bit more body roll than I like in hard corners. Performance of the little four is spritely, aided by a very good transmission. The manual mode for the trans works much better than most out there (except of course that from audi/vw). My only gripe is the lack of a dead pedal, it can be difficult for a guy of my size to find a comfortable spot for my left foot. Other than that, it is a great car."

"This was my first brand NEW car i have purchased and it was the best decision ever. And to see that the resale value for my 2007 is HIGHER than they MSRP I paid for it, I am in shock. It is a little noisy on the road and not too comfortable for a really long trip. But it is the best car for the money and I average 36 mpg driving city and hwy to and from work and grocery shopping, etc."

"great car, i currently have 15k miles on mine, no problems at all so far. a few squeaks/ rattles from the dash area, but this is a cheap vehicle so its expected. i got 43 mpg with no ac on during a 400 mile trip all interstate, and 36mpg the way back with ac on. great car for the money, some road noise, little under powered, and needs a 6 speed manual trans. 3500 rpm at 75 miles per hr. cmon"
